My project is focused on Hijab Women in fashion, challenges discrimination based on appearance, and also highlights the essence of diversity in the Fashion industry.
Irrespective of who we are or skin colour or religious belief, fashion is ubiquitous and fashion should be universally accepted.
The Hijab is more than a piece of cloth, the Hijab is a symbol of Islam, it represents purity, it's an act of spirituality and worship to get closer to God. It's unfair when fashion brands or advertising agencies or modelling agencies decides to replace your Hijab without a random object like jeans or something, this is unacceptable.
Inclusion and representation is very essential and this is what these women are advocating for. A fashion industry with more Hijab women on the runway, shooting for top fashion brands and being on the billboard and in top magazines across the globe.
